I cannot stress enough how important I find reading. Coming from me, a person who never liked reading throughout the youth, it might sound unusual. But the fact is that I discovered the beauty of this super strong mean of communication just years ago. Despite knowing how important it is, I could never force myself to start reading, not to mention finishing a 200 page book.
And now I find it one of the most important ways of gaining creative inspiration which is essential for every artist. Today I came across Shane Hurlbut's blog about reading that that begins with those same words. The funny thing is that I found myself in it, because he explains how he began reading at his age of 35, and is trying to catch up on it. Well I must admit I'm not much different, I'm working on it now at my age of 33.
One of my favourite and most inspirational books was definitely The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. It was mentioned in Shane's blog as well. It's a wonderful story about following your dreams, listening to your heart, and never giving up. It's a book I could read over and over again.
Right now I'm reading Engineering the Alpha by John Romaniello and Adam Bornstein that is also absolutely inspiring. How to manage your hormones, how to ballance your diet, and how to change your fitness programe in order to achieve unbelieveable progress in self-confidence, achievement in any field, health, sex life, and better feeling in general.
Today I cannot imagine going to bed without at least half an hour of reading. As my friend, my personal trainer and philosopher Simokrates said: ''Imagine reading 20 pages a day, only 5 nights a week: it's 400 pages per month, which is cca 2 books. Which is 24 books in a year, and 480 books in 20 year period!''
