The results are revealed!!! I reviewed all the cameras two times. First time it was a month ago, and second time it was today, giving points from 1-5 and writing down all the comments.
I have to say my comments from one month ago pretty much match the ones from today. And I’m especially pleased to anounce that my winner in points was Arri Alexa! This would also be my personal choice among these cameras as well.
The least points scored Canon 7D and Panasonic GH2. And then there’s i-Phone 4S in the 7th place.
Ok, I was surprised by the picture of the i-Phone, I have to admit. I was sure it was one of the two pictures I gave the least points to. But as one of the cinematographers in the video said:
”Let’s not make the producers falsely think the i-Phone had a good picture! It had a crappy picture, and it took a whole lot of work to make it look reasonable!”
But as pointed out many times in the video if you get the winner out of this contest you’re missing the point. You have to be able to realize how many options you have nowadays. How important the work of the cinematographer and the color grader is.
And above all – it’s all so subjective. And that’s what’s the most beautiful thing.
Here’s the link to the part II. If you haven’t seen part I, there’s no point in watching part II.
